Walk among desert plants in a Healing Garden, learning about their medicinal properties, watch Emirati women teach palm weaving while tree climbers and rope makers demonstrate their ancient skills.

Qasr al Hosn is located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, between Al Nasr Street, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street, and Sheikh Zayed the First Street.

The 2014 festival site was divided up into sections to make navigation as easy as possible for the thousands of visitors that attended.

The main Qasr al Hosn Area includes the fort itself and the Qasr al Hosn Centre which houses the Qasr al Hosn Exhibition. The Festival Experience area was subdivided into four themed areas: Desert, Oasis, Marine and Abu Dhabi Island.

To the east of the site is the Cultural Foundation which featured educational workshops, the Gahwa traditional coffee shop, National Library presentation and an open-air theatre which showcased poetry and historic Emirati documentaries.
