Overview

Earlier in 2013, more than 30,000 people celebrated centuries of rich Emirati culture and heritage at the hugely successful Qasr al Hosn Festival.

Held at the ground of Abu Dhabi’s ancient fort - the iconic birthplace of the capital - residents and visitors enjoyed ten days of fun activities, educational workshops, historical exhibitions, and spectacular theatrical performances.

The Qasr al Hosn Festival showcased the country’s wide range of music, dance, culture and tradition, all centred around a celebration of our treasured Qasr al Hosn fort – the first permanent structure built in the capital Abu Dhabi.

As well as celebrating Qasr al Hosn’s prestigious history, the festival brought to life the unique traditions that make the UAE what it is today, and showcased the talent, skills and culture of its people.
